Hey everyone, happy holidays and (almost) new year! 😄
For the last edition of this year, we wanted to call out which of our founders made the biggest impact with you guys, measured by how deeply you engaged or how many times you came back to check it out. ICYMI, last week we covered a list of what we learnt in the 6 months of writing Scale, check it out here.
Before we start, here’s where to go if you’re looking for our products (like Momentum) or if you’d be interested in sponsoring Scale.
We’ve been super fortunate to have met with, spoken to and featured the entrepreneurs we have this year. The people we’ve spoken with are at the apex of the industries they’re redefining, and have publicly recognised as such. Some of the credentials of the founders we’ve spoken with:
$1bn+ capital raised
$10bn total valuation
2 founders have been on Forbes 30 Under 30
1 founder made it to the TIME100 Next 2024 list
1 winner of AI Start-Up of the Year UK
Once again, we’d like to thank all the founders who we’ve had the opportunity to speak with for their time and we’re eagerly waiting to see what they build! Now onto your favourite posts of 2024…
Starting off the top three, we have our feature of Anish Dhar from Cortex, which served as a guide to finding the right entry point when selling into any enterprises as a B2B SaaS.
Cortex started with zero customers, zero competitors, and a new category that needed explaining. Anish broke down in simple terms and rules how you can sell a product that doesn’t exist yet into companies that don’t fully understand it, check it out here.
In 2nd place, we have our feature of Will Sealy from Summer, a fintech helping borrowers manage student loan debt.
Summer found that their focus on product-led growth in the early days had left them slightly incomplete in the “brand building” department. They had a choice: build a brand in the market, or acquire a team that’s done that well already. Check out how they made the decision here.
The number #1 favourite article of our audience this year was… Our interview with Shensi Ding-Lopez from Merge!!!
Merge founders Shensi Ding and Gil Feig spent over a year validating their unified API concept before going full-time. Shensi told us about how they tirelessly iterated and validated their idea initially and what taking the final step actually is like, check it out here.
We’ve launched Momentum, a collection of unreleased insights from our interviews with the best founders in the world. The founders featured in Momentum have raised billions from Sequoia, NEA, Accel, amongst others and are changing the industries they’re operating in forever.
If you’re an operator or founder that’s looking to level up, or you just enjoy reading about this stuff, this product is perfect for you.
Momentum currently has 3 editions, check them out and let us know what you think!
